zen meditation

In Zen Buddhism, zazen (literally "seated meditation"; Japanese: 坐禅 is a meditative discipline that is typically the primary religious practice. The precise meaning and method of zazen varies from school to school, but in general it can be regarded as a means of insight into the nature of existence. The aim of zazen is just sitting, that is, suspending all judgmental thinking and letting words, ideas, images and thoughts pass by without getting involved in them. This kind of idea is really exiting . In general almost everyone gets involved in the worldly affairs and because almost all our karma's are somewhere influenced by judgement, we find ourselves loaded with confusion and devoid of mental peace . So if you want to experience the ultimate bliss of this spiritual practice follow these three simple steps .

1) CONCENTRATION:The initial stages of training in zazen usually emphasize concentration, by focusing on the breath at the hara, often aided by counting. This counting meditation is called susokukan, and has several variations. Through this practice one builds up the power of concentration. With every counting try to go deeper and deeper into the consciousness. At first it will be a little difficult but once u master it you will experience its wonders.

2)KOAN INTROSPECTION:Direct realization of a reality beyond thought . That's what koan is about getting all the awareness focused on the reality and its realization . The aim of the break-through koan is to see the "nonduality of subject and object".
The monk himself in his seeking is the koan. Realization of this is the insight; the response to the koan . Subject and object - this is two hands clapping. When the monk realizes that the koan is not merely an object of consciousness but is also he himself as the activity of seeking an answer to the koan, then subject and object are no longer separate and distinct . This is one hand clapping.

3)SHIKANTAZA: Non thinking . Shikantaza is a form of meditation, in which the practitioner does not use any specific object of meditation; rather, practitioners remain as much as possible in the present moment, aware of and observing what passes through their minds and around them. Dogen says, in his Shobogenzo, "Sitting fixedly, think of not thinking. How do you think of not thinking? That's the art of zazen.

At first practice it for at least 30 to 45 minutes daily and then one can increase the time according to their comfort .Write us your queries and feedback on https://www.facebook.com/kintsugihealing.
