Introspection: Finding Who You Really Are
Often we find ourselves asking the age old existential questions. Who am I? What is my purpose? (If there is a purpose at all). What is the right thing to do? These questions keep circling the minds of most people, either consciously or subconsciously. So much so, that this constant analysis is almost a routine. But does it help? Or do we need better accuracy or depth?
When I first actually came across the word 'Introspection', I was a little dissatisfied with the application of it. When I tried to understand it, I realized it too has a particular trajectory.
For example: You fought with your loved one and you both went separate ways. At first you felt a lot of uproar, anger and resentment. Then a voice comes from within you, asking you to stop and rationalize, but you ignore it and carry on. Here you are on the lower trajectory, because the introspection took place some where on the subconscious level, when you yourself knew that you need to analyse stuff but you ignored it. Then slowly these feelings turn into guilt and remorse. You realize that there could be no argument without two opponents and so you too are responsible for the occurrence exactly as much as the other person; higher in trajectory. And finally you you start to miss that person, recall their good deeds, your good times together and happy moments, and then what you feel is love. Highest level in the trajectory.
Aristotle said "Knowing yourself is the biggest wisdom". So, when are you going to do it?
If lately your heart is throbbing endless realm of questions, the answers are hidden too deep inside you. Find sometime for your self and really take a deep dive. Trust me you will cherish it.
